From a Flâner trip

Flâner

/flɑ.ne/, french verb. To stroll with no destination in mind, despite a clear goal: to be at once part of a place and to observe it from the outside.

Some people want a single big day. Others want three or four, spent somewhere that means something, with someone quietly capturing it as it happens: an elopement in Mallorca, a retirement trip on Lake Como, a family gathering worth remembering. I help shape the trip, then disappear into it with you, and come home with the photographs to prove it happened exactly as it felt.

How it works
01. Plan

We shape the trip together

Where, how many days, what you want it to feel like. I'll help you curate the ideal itinerary according to your likes, then leave room in it for things to happen.

02. Wander

We follow you through it

The boat, the market, the swim before breakfast. Camera close but never staged, digital coverage alongside frames shot on film.

03. Receive

The trip, as it happened

A full gallery within a few weeks, a printed photo album, plus a set of film scans once they're back from the lab.

Most trips take shape around the Mediterranean, but I'm just as happy to travel further afield. Every journey is different, so every quote is too: tell me where you're thinking, and I'll put together a proposal built around it.

"The best photo of a trip is rarely the one everybody posed for."

A few of the stories

Three trips, so far.

A few of the days I've been lucky enough to follow. More get added as they happen.
